Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of thechangebetweenus.com, the Discover experience, our card decks and our companion app (the "Services"), offered by Between Us Labs, LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as The Change Between Us ("we", "us"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. You must be 18 or older to use them.

The Services are tools for reflection and conversation. They are not psychotherapy, counseling, medical, psychiatric or legal advice, diagnosis or treatment, and they do not create a clinician–client relationship — even where licensed professionals helped shape the content.

Always seek the advice of a qualified professional with questions about your mental or physical health. If you or someone else is in crisis or danger, call 911 or call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the US).

Therapists, coaches, facilitators and organizations may use the cards in their own sessions and groups. You remain solely responsible for your professional judgment, your services and compliance with your licensing rules.

All cards, card text, Scenario–Pattern–Growth structure as expressed in our materials, artwork, logos, names, website content, app and software are owned by Between Us Labs, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

The Change Between Us® is a registered trademark of Between Us Labs, LLC. You may not use our trademarks, logos or trade dress in connection with any product or service that is not ours, or in any way that is likely to cause confusion or suggest our endorsement, without our prior written permission.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Services and any deck you buy. You may not copy, reproduce, scan, print, distribute, resell, adapt, create derivative works from, or use our content to train AI models, except as these Terms allow or with our written permission. Printable samples we provide may be printed for personal or in-session use only.

You agree not to:

• Use the Services unlawfully or to harm, harass or impersonate anyone.
• Interfere with the site's security or operation, or access it by automated means without permission.
• Submit false information or content you don't have the right to share.

If you send feedback, ideas or reviews, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use them to improve and promote the Services. We will not publish your name with a quote without your permission.

When products or subscriptions become available, prices, taxes and shipping costs will be shown at checkout. Orders are subject to acceptance and availability. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel any time and access continues to the end of the paid period. Refund, return and shipping details shown at checkout or on our product pages form part of these Terms. Damaged or defective physical items will be replaced or refunded if you contact us within 30 days of delivery.

The Services may link to or rely on third-party sites and services we don't control. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise any particular emotional, relationship or health outcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Between Us Labs, LLC and its founders, team and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $100.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms.

We may change or discontinue any part of the Services, and may suspend access for anyone who violates these Terms. We may update these Terms; the new version applies once posted here with a new effective date.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the law where you live requires otherwise. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
